Sharpening Service
A bushcraft knife earns its keep in the woods. Carving, batoning, building a fire, and prepping food at camp all run that edge down fast. Bushcraft and outdoor knife sharpening in Portland gets your blade ready for the next trip. We sharpen fixed blades and folders in every steel and grind, matched to the right angle for hard outdoor work.
Bushcraft knives come in all kinds of steel, from simple high-carbon blades to tough stainless. They also come in different grinds, like Scandi, flat, and convex. Each one is sharpened a little differently, and we know the difference. We keep a Scandi grind crisp and set a convex edge the way it should be. If your outdoor knife also rides in your pocket, see our pocket knife sharpening.
Outdoor work is hard on a blade. Batoning through a log, carving a stake, and cutting cordage all need a strong edge that will not chip or roll. We set a durable working edge that can take it, then test it before it leaves. Your knife comes back ready to carve a feather stick or slice through camp dinner with equal ease.
Portland sits right next to some of the best outdoors in the country. The Gorge, Mount Hood, and the Coast Range are all close, and people here use their knives out there. We sharpen for backpackers, campers, and weekend bushcrafters from all over town. Bring your knife in before your next trip and it will be sharp when you reach the trailhead.
Bushcraft and outdoor knife sharpening is $10. That covers any steel or grind and our razor-sharp test. If your edge is chipped from hard use, we can repair it for an extra cost, quoted before we start. Get it done before your next trip out.
